What Is Vertex Publish?
Vertex Publish lets you prepare and edit 3D product content directly in your browser using Vertex Connect, so the people downstream of engineering get an accurate, ready-to-use model. You work in the same model viewer you already use in Vertex Connect with an added set of publishing tools.
With Publish, you can:
- Restructure the scene tree by inserting, replacing, cutting, copying, pasting, renaming, deleting, and grouping items.
- Access your organization's Parts Library to add new parts or replace an existing part with a newer version.
- Find and fix issues with the Missing Parts Report, which lists items in the scene that have no geometry.
- Save your changes to the base scene, including the camera, materials, ghosting, transforms, and grouping, so everyone sees the same model.
Publish is used by teams who build and maintain 3D content for others, such as 3D illustrators and technical publication authors preparing models for manufacturing, service, supplier, and parts catalog workflows. Because your edits are made on the connected model in Vertex, you can update content without exporting files or copying CAD data.
How to Access Vertex Publish
An administrator assigns Publish access to each user individually, so it isn't automatically included with your Vertex Connect account.
If you don't see the Publishing or Viewing button in the top right corner of the model viewer, contact your organization's Vertex administrator to request access.
