Attach, View, or Delete Files in a Story

You can include additional information with a story by attaching files to the Story Overview (top level of a story) or to individual comments in a story’s snapshots. Others can then view and download the files. For example, you can include 2D drawings of your model.

Desktop

Attach files

1. To attach files to the Story Overview, do the following:
   1. In the Story Overview, on the Attachments tab, click Add Attachments.
   2. Navigate to the file that you want to attach and click Open.

      The file is added to the story, and an email notification is sent to the story creator.

2. To attach files to a comment in a snapshot, do the following:
   1. Open the snapshot to which you want to add an attachment.
   2. Under Comments, click Add Attachments , navigate to the file that you want to attach, and click Open.
      

      The file is added to the snapshot's comments. If you @mentioned someone, they will be notified by email.

View or download files

1. To view or download files from the Story Overview, do the following:
   1. Click the Attachments tab.
   2. If the attachment is a PDF or image file, you can view it in your browser by clicking the attachment name.

      Tip: If it doesn't open, ensure you allow pop-ups in your browser.

   3. If you want to download the file, right-click the attachment, and choose Download .
2. To view or download files added to a comment in a snapshot, do one or more of the following:
   1. If the attachment is an image file or PDF, click the attachment. It opens in your browser. From here, you can also download the file.

      Tip: If it doesn't open, ensure you allow pop-ups in your browser.

   2. If you can’t preview the file, click it, and it will download so you can view the file locally.

Delete attachments

1. To delete attachments in the Story Overview, do the following:
   1. From the Story Overview, click the Attachments tab.
   2. Right-click the file that you want to delete, and select Delete.

      Note: Only the story creator or the person who attached the file can delete an attachment.

Mobile

Attach files

Currently, all Story Overview attachments can only be viewed when you’re using a phone or tablet. However, in a story’s snapshot, you can add and view attachments in the comments. For more information, see Add or respond to comments in a story snapshot.

Delete files

1. To delete attachments in the Story Overview, do the following:
   1. From the Story Overview, tap the Attachments tab.
   2. Next to the file that you want to delete, tap More , and tap Delete.

      Note: Only the story creator or the person who attached the file can delete an attachment.
